At The United Nations Internet Governance Forum in Sharm El Sheikh, the official launch of Ankabooot™ the First Global Social Network to break the language barrier was announced by its Founder and Chairman Mr. Khaled Fattal during the United Nations IGF conference in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Details of some of the unique Multilingual applications of Ankabooot™ like, Ankabooot Live Translated Feeds™, ALTF English™ and ALTF Arabic™, as well as Ankabooot Multilingual Messenger™, and The Ankabooot Blog™ to name a few were highlighted by Mr. Fattal to the United Nations IGF attendees and the local and international Press Corp covering at this summit.
Mr. Fattal’s deep and continuous involvement with and contribution to the United Nations IGF are deeply rooted dating back to the early days of the WSIS, the World Summit on the Information Society.
From the beginning of WSIS in 2001 to today’s UN IGF, Mr. Fattal had championed and advanced the causes of Multilingualism on the net and worked and called for a Multilingual Internet to empower local language communities who do not speak English, the language of the Internet, in the capacity of Chairman and CEO of MINC, the Multilingual Internet Names Consortium www.minc.org.
Fattal is also Chairman of Live Multilingual Translator™ www.LMTranslator.com, a translation technology company that translates English websites to Arabic live, online, in real time and at the click of a button but with adherence to grammar and syntax, and who has supplied Live Multilingual Translator™ linguistic technology to translate to Arabic the UN official IGF Geneva Website as well IGF Hyderabad India, and IGF Brazil’s sites in support of the IGF since its formation.
Mr. Fattal’s contributions to bridging the digital and cultural divides are well recognized, and the launch of Ankabooot™ is testimonial to his persistence and perseverance in fulfilling this quest.
Additionally, Mr. Fattal’s mission to bring about a Multilingual Internet through IDNs,
Internationalized Domain Names, has also been partially fulfilled with ICANN announcing
during its Seoul, South Korea meeting last month the launch of IDNs in the country codes as part of
the ICANN IDN Fast Track program as Mr. Fattal also advices the ICANN President on IDNs as
member of the ICANN President Advisory Committee on IDNs, IPAC IDNs, since this ICANN
committee’s formation in 2005.
Ankabooot™ Chairman Khaled Fattal said: “The announcement of the birth and the official launch of Ankabooot signal a new era in Global Social Networking and is a 1st in Global Cross Linguistic and Cultural Communications at societal level”.
Ankabooot’ will offer virtually all the usual services users are familiar with other well known Social Networks of today, however, and for the first time Ankabooot’s users will have the ability to communicate, debate and exchange ideas with others who do not know each other’s languages and be able to do so across languages using the Ankabooot’s unique patent pending applications like “Ankabooot Live Translated Feeds, ALTF™, in its ALTF English™ and ALTF Arabic™ and Ankabooot Multilingual Messenger™ and the Ankabooot Blog™ to name a few.
ALTF English will house English websites under special categories like World News, Sports, Entertainment, Money and Banking, Internet Governance, etc with more categories and websites added soon and regularly. ALTF Arabic will house English websites translated to Arabic in addition to organic Arabic websites and categorized in the same manner as ALTF English. Both ALTF English and ALTF Arabic will give the Ankabooot user the ability to comment in writing or by video, invite their friends to start a group and debate them or even start their own blog or link it to Ankabooot’s live RSS English or Arabic feeds.
Imagine an Arab who knows no English reading an article published by Time Magazine or a document on the UN IGF website created in English but now translated and made available by Ankabooot in Arabic at the click of a button empowering a new generation to express their opinions and present their individual and collective aspirations in their own languages by Voice, Video or in writing or even by creating their your own Ankabooot™ Blog, Groups, Causes or Topics and debating them across languages.
Fattal also said: “We want to empower ordinary citizens who have not had much of a voice in their own communities to be able to connect with others across languages and be heard inside their own communities as well as the world over to take notice of their aspirations. We are enabling individuals and communities to start cross cultural communications and debates that will break the language and cultural barriers”. He later added: “One of our missions is to advance mutual respect and tolerance across races, nationalities and ethnicities.”
The Ankabooot Blog™ is unlike any blog you know, once you create your own blog in English, we will translate it for you to Arabic, Live, Online and in Real Time to be read, discussed and debated by readers you could never reach.
Ankabooot Multilingual Messenger™ is an integral part in breaking the language barrier in social networking. Ankabooot Multilingual Messenger™ allows people who do not know each other’s languages to be able to chat online and communicate across languages in ways never seen before. A student in china who knows no Arabic will now be able to communicate and chat online with an Arab who knows no Chinese, a giant leap for mankind made possible through the integrated features of the Live Multilingual Translator’s linguistic technology into our Messenger application to create the Ankabooot Multilingual Messenger™.
Fattal concluded:” This is a first for humanity and we have more to showcase in the future. We do not claim that the translation will always be perfect but we feel that by creating a dialogue between peoples who do not know each other’s languages, and where no previous communications at mass level existed, any progress from Zero especially with Ankabooot multilingual messenger, is a giant step for humanity to create a more tolerant, respectful, and accepting world between races, religions and nationalities. This Ankabooot ethos is an affirmation of our philosophical religion: Humanity.”
